Operator "Away" status

Activa Live Chat Support » Operator Console » Information

Article ID: 79 | Last Modified: 08/20/2009

When signed in to the Operator Console, live chat operators have the option of setting their status to "Away." The Away status takes the operator offline while keeping them signed in to the Operator Console.

The Away status is helpful for operators who need to finish their currently engaged live chat sessions without being available for any further live chat requests. It also is helpful for taking short breaks without signing out.

When an operator changes their status to Away, the Operator Console's visitor monitor will slide off the screen and a red indicator in the Live Chat tab will notify the operator of their status.

If an operator changes their status to Away while they are engaged in a chat or have any active proactive invitations, those engagements will remain in the monitor and all other traffic will be removed. When the operator is finished with these engagements, the entire monitor will slide off the screen until they return their status to "Online."

Important: If all operators have their status set to Away, the live chat buttons will change to their "offline" status.
