Tracking individual live chat buttons/links or invites with Google Analytics

Track the effectiveness of any individual live chat Button/Link and/or Automated Invite within Google Analytics quickly and easily.

Simply setup a goal in Google Analytics to track clicks/hits to the unique ID of each Button/Link or Automated Invite.

Note: Each Activa Live Chat Button/Link and Automated Invite has its own unique ID. These unique IDs are available in the Account Dashboard in the appropriate sections.

With the appropriate unique IDs in hand/available to you, sign in to your Google Analytics account, then follow these instructions:

  1. Click the "Edit" action for the appropriate Website Profile.
  2. In the Goals area, click "Add goal" link.
  3. In the Goal Name field, enter the name of the Button/Link or Automated Invite associated with this goal.
  4. For Goal Type select "URL Destination."
  5. In the Goal Details section that appears, select "Head Match" for the Match Type field.
  6. In the Goal URL field, enter "/ActivaLiveChat/Button_ID" where "ID" is the unique ID of the Button/Link or Automated Invite.
  7. Leave the Case Sensitive step un-checked.
  8. Save the goal.
