Deployment code update and improvements

There have been recent improvements to Activa Live Chat's Deployment code and the Buttons & Links code that may require action by you.

What Changed?

Deployment code created or edited after this date must now be placed just before the closing </body> tag (instead of between the <head></head> tags). In addition, any Buttons & Links code that existed before this date must be updated and replaced to work with any affected Deployment code.

IMPORTANT: Deployments that were created before this date and that have not been updated after this date are not affected. Buttons & Links code only needs to be updated and replaced if you create a new Deployment or edit an existing Deployment.

What Should You Do?

If you create a new Deployment after this date, or edit any of your existing Deployments after this date, you must:

  1. Make sure the affected Deployment code is placed just before the closing </body> tag in your Website's code.
  2. Make sure that the Buttons & Links code used in such Deployments is updated (or created new) after this date, and re-copied into your Website.

Remember: Buttons & Links code that was created before this date must first be updated before it can be used with such deployments. To update Buttons & Links code, just click "Edit Button" and then scroll down and click "Save this Button/Link". Then just copy the code and use it anywhere within your Website.

These changes allow the Activa Live Chat engine to load after your Web page has been rendered in the browser. This very well could reduce page load times and speed-up your Website when using Activa Live Chat.
