Integrate Google Analytics with Activa Live Chat

Activa Live Chat integrates with Google Analytics (and other leading analytics packages from Omniture and WebTrends) so you may track the effectiveness of live chat on your Website.

Note: You must have an active Google Analytics account before you begin.

Enabling Google Analytics Integration

Follow these instructions to integrate Google Analytics with Activa Live Chat:

  1. Sign in to the Activa Live Chat Account Dashboard and go to the Deployments section
  2. Create a new deployment or edit an existing deployment
  3. In the ":Optional: Integrate Your Analytics Packs," select the checkbox to enable analytics integration
  4. Select "Google Analytics" from the dropdown
  5. Insert the highlighted parameters into your Google Analytics tracking code on your Website as shown in the example
  6. Save the Deployment

Setup Conversion Goals

Next, setup Conversion Goals in Google Analytics:

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics and click Edit next to the Website Profile with which you will be integrating
  2. In the Conversion Goals and Funnel section, add a new goal (or edit an existing goal)
  3. For Match Type, select "Regular Expression Match"
  4. For Goal URL, enter exactly (including the special characters but without the quotes): ".*ActivaLiveChat.*"
  5. For Goal Name, enter "Live Chat"
  6. All other options leave in their default state (usually blank or unchecked)

Just save the goal and that's it!

IMPORTANT: Google Analytics generally updates its report data every 24 hours, but data may sometimes take longer to appear in your account.
