Live chat transcript archiving and storage

By default, Activa Live Chat securely archives and stores all live chat transcripts. These transcripts are available to you for the life of your subscription and for up to 30-days afterward.

Administrators can, however, limit the length of time the transcripts are stored or turn off archiving and storage altogether.

To adjust or manage the archiving and storage of live chat transcripts, simply:

  1. Using your Administrator Account, sign in to the Account Dashboard
  2. Go to "Deployments" and either create a new deployment or edit an existing deployment
  3. Towards the bottom, you'll see a section titled "Chat Transcript Archiving"
  4. Select the option that's best suited to your needs.
    These choices include:
    • Archive Chat Transcripts for Life of License Subscription (default)
    • Archive and Delete after 90-Days
    • Archive and Delete after 60-Days
    • Archive and Delete after 30-Days
    • Archive and Delete after 10-Days
    • Do Not Archive Chat Transcripts
