To monitor visitor traffic only without affecting the status/availability of live chat, simply follow these instructions:

  1. Sign in to the Activa Live Chat Account Dashboard.
  2. In the "Departments & Operators" section, create a new department. Make sure to assign the department's monitoring to the deployment that will be monitored.
  3. Next, add a new operator account to this department. Alternatively, you can assign an existing operator account to this department. Just make sure the operator account is not assigned to any other departments.
  4. In the "Buttons & Links" section, make sure that all of the buttons for the monitored deployment are assigned to specific departments - not "All Departments."

    Important: If any buttons or links are assigned to "All Department,s" this method of monitoring only without affecting the status of live chat buttons will not work. In other words, no buttons or links can be assigned to the department setup in these instructions.

Once completed, just sign in to the Operator Console with the operator account mentioned in these instructions. You will then be able to monitor live chat traffic without being involved with live chat or affecting the status of any of your Website's live chat buttons.
