Manage Salesforce.com user profile permissions related to the Salesforce CRM Chatlet

Below is a brief overview on how to setup applicable user profile permissions within Salesforce.com for use with the Salesforce Chatlet.

  1. Go to the Salesforce.com and login
  2. Click "Setup" at the top of the page
  3. Under "Administration Setup" expand "Manage Users" then click "Profiles"
  4. Click "Edit" for the appropriate Profile

API Access
Under "Administrative Permissions," check "API Enabled" (this allows a user to sign in to Salesforce.com using the Salesforce CRM Chatlet).

Permissions
Under "Standard Object Permissions"

  • For any Object that you want to Read, you must have "Read" CHECKED
  • For any Object that you want to Create, you must have "Create" CHECKED
  • For any Object that you want to Edit, you must have "Edit" CHECKED

Under "Custom Object Permissions" (if applicable)

  • For any Object that you want to Read, you must have "Read" CHECKED
  • For any Object that you want to Create, you must have "Create" CHECKED
  • For any Object that you want to Edit, you must have "Edit" CHECKED
