Live chat buttons and links are created within the "Buttons & Links" section of the Account Dashboard.

Once you have completed the steps for a creating a button/link, you will be given a small piece of code that must be copied and pasted into your Website where you'd like the button/link to appear.

Remember to Review: Quick Start Guide: Getting started with setup

If you are not able to see the live chat button or link by viewing your Website, please check for these possible causes:

  • You must have Deployment Code on the page where you would like your button/link to appear. Without Deployment Code, buttons.links may not show up at all, and will certainly not work if they do.
  • Make sure your Deployment Code is in the proper place on the page. Deployment Code must be placed directly above the closing </body> tag and not within any other HTML elements (such as tables, divs, etc.).
  • If you setup your button/link to disappear when your operators are offline, then you must have at least one operator signed in and available within the Operator Console before your button/link will appear in its "online" status on your Website (in other words, be visible when visiting the site).
  • Try refreshing the page. If your button/link is set to disappear or show nothing when your operators are offline, and your operators where not signed in at the time you went to the page but then signed in afterwards, the button/link may not appear until you refresh the page or browse to a different page on which the button/link is supposed to show.
  • Make sure no other elements in your HMTL are effecting your button/link, such as hidden elements, or even malformed/non-compliant HTML.
