Integrating the live chat Button/Link Code into your Website

After you have setup a live chat button or link, you will be given special code to be inserted into your Website's code.

  1. With your administrator account, sign in to the Account Dashboard
  2. Go to the Buttons & Links section
  3. If you already setup a button, it's code will be available on this page - select it with your mouse and copy it
  4. Next, with your HTML editor, open the page of your Website where you would like to place this button
  5. Paste the Button Code into your Website's code (make sure you paste it into your Website's code, not into your Website's graphical interface that is offered as a view in popular HTML editors such as Dreamweaver)
  6. Save your edit and publish/upload your page to your Web server

IMPORTANT: For your live chat button to show-up properly (or show up at all), your Website/Web page must have your Deployment Code integrated first. Setting up and inserting your Deployment Code is the very first step of setting up Activa Live Chat as referenced in the Quick Start Setup Guide that was e-mailed to the account owner after signup and that is available on the homepage of the Account Dashboard.
